THE PROJECT
When EdApp rebranded to SC Training, the goal was more than just a name change; it was about full ecosystem integration. I was tasked with creating a comprehensive design system for SafetyCulture's Training website that unified the mobile-first microlearning platform with the broader SafetyCulture operations suite. The project involved auditing hundreds of existing UI components and establishing a scalable framework.
THE CHALLENGE
Our CMS was heavily burdened by legacy component slices that had become fragmented over time. Many of these elements were functionally outdated, lacked the necessary UX maturity for our new direction, or simply weren't built for the flexibility we now required. The core challenge was to redesign these components from the ground up to ensure they were not only aesthetically modern but also highly functional and intuitive for other internal users and content creators within the CMS.
THE SOLUTION
I designed a modular system rooted in Atomic Design principles, with a strict focus on high-contrast accessibility and fundamental UX patterns. To bridge the gap between design and production, I implemented a robust Token System, ensuring every button, card, and progress tracker remained pixel-perfect across responsive screens. By collaborating closely with engineering from discovery through to deployment, I ensured a seamless handoff process. Every component was stress-tested for responsiveness across our defined breakpoints, with a standardised logic applied to spacing, typography, and corner radius to guarantee a cohesive visual language.
THE outcome
I refreshed the SC Training homepage using our new modular components, in July 2025. It drove a 15% increase in hero banner conversion and a 45.62% rise in active users within key markets. We also saw 513 new free accounts created in the first week of the homepage update and that’s hard not to get excited about it!
